Plugging gaps of knowledge

    Hi folks,

This year I have 2 National 5 (GCSE) classes, one French and one Spanish.

However I feel that the classes are lacking in what I would deem basic vocabulary (e.g. Not knowing tener in the present tense for Spanish).

How would teachers on here go about plugging these gaps of knowledge? Explicity teaching key high frequency verbs and then testing?
