How about school crossings?
They are always near schools where there are more children, so the children are more likely to be crossing the road. They should be moved to areas where there aren't many children to be put at risk.
The woman's absolutely right. They have exactly the same problem in France. On a trip to Lacanau we saw a deer crossing sign at the side of the road, and round the next corner was a car in the opposite lay-by with its front all bashed in and steam pouring from the remains of its radiator. The driver was staring at it looking very baffled. Another 50 yards down the road was a dead deer.
You'd think the French government would make sure all its deer could read French wouldn't you?
