My school have just introduced Media Studies for the first time and have asked me to teach it to the current Year 9s (3 year course) and 10s ( 2 year course). I have never studied or taught Media Studies before and the school has no resources. I am due to go on a course in October and have of course read the course outline etc. However I feel like I’m fumbling in the dark.

Does anyone have any SOW, LTP/MTP, resources or other pointers as to where I could go to get help for this? I’m floundering around and would rather my students had meaningful lessons this first half term.

Any help would be gratefully received.

    Thank you in advance

    Louise

Have they told you what specification you will be following or do you get to decide? The Eduqas exam board has a great Facebook group with a Google Drive set up where teachers have uploaded thousands of SOW / lesson plans / resources for both GCSE & A-level.

Thanks for that - we're doing AQA. However, I will check out the facebook group if I'm allowed access to it.

Hello! One year on and I'm in the same boat as you were. I have a previous career in media, and am an English specialist. We're also doing AQA. Previous teacher suddenly left..turns out Y11 have got little done so far....eek!
