Planning Maths - What do YOU do?

Discussion in 'Primary' started by Superfan, Apr 14, 2011.

  1. Hi,
I just wanted to garner opinion as to what range of approaches to planning maths there are being used at the moment. Do people take objectives from the framework, or from APP? Do you use a scheme of work? Do you have text books available in school? I've heard of one school where Units A and E are taught solely in the starter portion of the lesson.
We're looking to overhaul the Maths planning and teaching in our school and any insights would be greatly appreciated! I'd like to trial them in my class during the summer term before rolling anything out across the school.

We just follow the framework and try to fill the gaps in the APP. I agree though, a more effective system must exist!
