Planning for afterschool Year 6 Booster

    You are doing 1 hour for all three subjects? Really? Do the same children need all three?

    I do an hour a week for L5 maths only...cannot imagine trying to fit reading and writing in as well.

    I don't do a three part lesson at all as the group is fairly small and so it is more a discussion/problem solving time. I've worked hard last term to excite them and enthuse them (I've never taught this group of children before and was stunned at their lack of motivation and problem solving skills in their first class with me).

    I might do some SATs type things with them after Feb half term, but definitely not the whole session and definitely not as a test.

    I use things like the challenges for more able, enrich and talk for maths problems.
