  1. I've just discovered Pinterest from the primary forum and wondered if there are any Reception teachers out there who are willing to share their page. I am an NQT looking for ideas to share with my class in September. I have just started my own page, so if anyone would like to follow me, my page is http://pinterest.com/EYFSteacher/ (although there is not alot on there at the mo!).
    Thank you :)

  3. Cariad2- I love your coloured rice!
Did you make it using vinegar and baking or is there a different way? Do you find it easy?

None of the stuff on the boards is mine - they're all great ideas that I've pinned from other people's boards, or from websites that I've found on the internet. Hopefully, I'll add some of my own resources etc, but that will have to wait until next term when I've gone into school and taken some photos.
I do have coloured rice in class, but I made it so long ago that I can't remember exactly how I did it. I think that I just stirred a bit of food colouring into some rice (use dried rice - don't cook it), and then left it on some greaseproof paper to dry.
There's a thread about colouring past and rice over on the primary forum

  5. Thankyou Cariad2, will take a look at that forum now :).

  6. I'm an NQT starting in Foundation Stage too. I love Pinterest! Here's the link to my boards (some of them aren't teaching based).

I didn't make it. I just pinned it from somebody else's board, because it's something that I might try in the future. If you see something you like on pinterest, you click on the picture and keep clicking until you get to the original source.
Here's the link for the site that explains how to make the water snake.

I'm now totally obsessed! Lots of great ideas. I teach older SEN pupils who are working at early years level. Mainly just repins of everyone else's ideas at the moment...

Same here! If you haven't got a pinterest I recommend it!! I never used mine until yesterday and I can already see that it is going to be a fantastic teaching tool.

  18. The only trouble I'm finding is pinning too much so I'm being more careful with my pins now! trying to re-organise is harder once you've already pinned I have found! I love the idea of the hand suckers for fine-motor-skills - it was on the abc blog as well, but I can't find them anywhere to buy! I don't have a b-m shop near me, the internet doesn't like me either and won't find me any! Ger! The search will go on...

I've just started making other boards even though I haven't pinned that much yet I can see it getting messy already! :) And I have thought the same about the hand suckers!!
