Picture books that are great for cross curricular work (reception-year 6)

Discussion in 'Primary' started by vinorose, Jan 30, 2011.

  1. Hi- I am looking for picture books that are good for producing cross curricular work. We have book week coming up and would like to compile a list for staff from Reception up to year 6 of books that have been particular successful!
    Thanks in advance.

Off the top of my head:
The Snail and the Whale (year 2)
    Giraffes can't Dance (YR - Y2)
    Handa's Surprise (Y1/2)
Have used all three of these successfully (but not good for History/RE - we didn't do History when I was using these and RE was always separate anyway)

  3. Rainbow Fish
    Little Red Hen
    Dogger
    3 little pigs
    Red Riding hood
    Lighthouse keepers lunch

  4. Sorry - they should have all been on a separate line!
