I am not a Head and work in a school that is struggling (inner-city, difficult circumstances etc) but is not in Special Measures I had a discussion with my Head about a decision she had made. The decision will reduce KS5 achievement (by 1-2 grades in my subject) by re-directing time from remedial and support programs I had set up into lower school Tutor time presence. A level points are desperately needed in our school which has a poor Points-per-Pupil score which shows us up badly in the league tables. I had facts and figures which graphically illustrated the current achievements of the programme and the consequences of of the change and was told 'some things are more important than Achievement, John' What do you Heads think of this? Just interested, not going to quote you..
