  1. Hi,

Just wanted some quick advice as all the courses/options are so confusing and was hoping someone could explain it here...

I have applied to do a PGCE with a specialist subject in Secondary Schools, but have also seen you can do them without a specialist subject? What does this mean you can then go on to teach? Is it better to do a course with a Specialism?

Also what are the real differences with doing a PGCE with Level 7 and say a Cert Ed with Level 5, can you get the same jobs with both?

Apologies if these are obvious questions, but struggling to find the answers on the internet.

    Thank you in advance!
  2. Thank you, great advice! I have gone for the PGCE in FE because my heart is with Outdoor Ed and I have my qualifications there too...
It is good to know that I can now use a QTLS in Secondary Schools too, my only worry is finding a job after, but I will think about that then!

Make sure that the PGCE in FE allows you to teach in Secondary schools. I am not sure if that is the case, although it may be nowadays.
  4. Apparently it does with QTLS, although I have read IfL are in trouble and you may not be able to get QTLS soon?
