PGCE training bursary for ICT or Geography?

Discussion in 'Thinking of teaching' started by pauloross90, Feb 5, 2011.

  1. Hey guys, I know the training bursary list is available now via the TDA website; but is Geography considered in the 'combined/general science - £6000' category?
Also, what happened to ICT? They were offering a £8,000 bursary for ICT in 2010/2011 and it was seen as a shortage subject... whilst now it doesnt appear to get any funding?

  2. Nope, no training bursaries for either of those subjects. Government cutbacks and all that malarky!

  3. Not just cutbacks.
Doesn't look like ICT will remain part of the NC. It seems to be like Business Studies or Media - schools employ teachers of those subjects, but the government doesn't fund their training.
