pgce social science interview please help!!

Discussion in 'Thinking of teaching' started by misspiggy01, Apr 3, 2007.

  1. Hi, I have been invited to attend an interview for pgce social science at keele next week and I am absolutely terrified because I know it's very competetive. I've been told I've done well to get an interview but I just cannot help but feel really nervous.

I have been sent a pack detailing the activities I have to do which include a written exercise on David Bell's, Chief HMI (November 2005) speech, as required by the Training and Development Agency.
    and

I have to "prepare a short 5 minute presentation to a group of potential sixth form students who are considering taking an A level in either Psychology or Sociology. Within this brief time-slot, consider ways that you would 'connect' young people with your subject specialism. The aim of the presentation is to attract the attention of the young people choosing A levels before they read the more detailed information on content
    and assessment".

can anyone who has experienced this interview offer any advice to help calm my nerves?

    Thanks, most appreciated.
