PGCE interview

Discussion in 'Thinking of teaching' started by MrsLauraAtkins, Feb 3, 2012.

  1. Hi,

I have an interview at Peterborough for ARU and wondered what I should expect. Any advice would be welcome- I'm quite nervous!

I've looked at KS3 Maths & English, it's just the interview bit!!

    Thank you,

  2. Hi,
I had an interview at ARU chelmsford on the 19th Jan, still awaiting to hear back!
The interview is quite complexed. The questions aren't straightforward like, "Why do you want to be a teacher", they are much more wordy so you have to listen out to what they are asking you!! They asked a lot about experience (especially what you've learnt), and they want to know why you'd cope. Also make sure you are on top of current issues.
The tests are fairly easy. Just look at KS3 and GCSE maths and you'll be fine. It's the normal stuff like algebra, fractions, % etc etc. The english test is a TDA skills test.
Hope that helps, and good luck.
  3. Thank you very much , that does help :)

It's given me something to think about,

    Fingers crossed for you!

  4. Thank you :) Let me know how you get on, and good luck! x
