PGCE/equivalent Distance Learning courses

Discussion in 'Thinking of teaching' started by TheGirl, Mar 1, 2011.

  1. Hello

I applied for the PGCE Primary Distributed Learning at University of Cumbria, and I also the Flexible Primary at Edge Hill University. Both have come back as negatives (one full and other unsuccessful).

Does anyone know of any similar distance learning courses that I may be able to apply for? I'm based in the north west of England. Being a mum and also having a minor disability, the only way for me train would be through distance learning.

A little bit of background, I've spent the past 18 months working as a voluntary TA at a primary. I also have a degree in performing arts and a few other little learning qualifications.

    Thanks in advanced!

  2. Hi,

The University of Herfordshire run a flexible course but, not sure if they are now full or not, I was offered a place on the course yesterday so they must know numbers, it's worth a look.

  3. The OU run a PGCE, but I've heard it's not very good. Might be worth a look though, in your circumstances, I think OU courses are what you make them
