PGCE Art Education anyone?

    Hello everyone,

Not too sure how this website works but I'll give it a shot and I'd reeeeally appreciate it if anyone has any advice.

I graduated with a degree in religious studies and philosophy with an initial idea of teaching religious studies. I have had a sudden change of heart and realised that it has been art that has been my main passion my whole life and I know that it'd be my dream job. I have a huge portfolio, did 'philosophy of the arts' module at uni and have done an online art history course with Sotheby's.

Has anyone been accepted onto a PGCE course for Art Education without an art degree? Or is it the case that I have to do a masters before doing this?

Anyyyyy advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, as it’s not your specialism it unlikely you will be accepted for pace or employed.

Teaching art is not easy and needs thorough educational training from theory AND skill.

If your really keen masters in fine arts would certainly help you.
