That should have been a shoo-in for the wrexit party

Perhaps they are not so invincible.

They were down as 85% likely to win it. Bookies had stopped accepting bets on them. It's almost as if the media - notably the Brexit Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) - might have been exaggerating their popularity.

    Now I wonder why . . ?

So the Brexit party is to challenge this result?

    Irony overload.

Isabel Oakeshott (Spectator) reports on Twitter that the challenge is being made " amid mounting evidence convicted electoral fraudster Tariq Mahmood acted as an “agent” to Labour candidate @LisaForbes_"

Well, I'll withhold comment I've seen all the evidence. After all, there has been an extremely serious allegation of the theft of a carrier bag containing 1000 Brexit Party votes made on Twitter. This deserves serious investigation.

The allegation was so ridiculous that comment was unnecessary. The tongue was firmly in cheek.
Anyway. This shocking development has now happened:

Yes folks, there was no crime, no fraud, no Muzlim stealing the election from the Brexit Party. All there appears to be is a lot of egg on the faces of the haters.

Five allegations of malpractice at a Parliamentary by-election were unfounded, a police inquiry concluded.

Labour won the Peterborough seat last month after its incumbent MP Fiona Onasanya was forced out after being jailed for lying to police.

However, allegations of bribery, postal vote issues, burning of ballots and breaching the privacy of the vote were made to Cambridgeshire Police.

A spokesman confirmed the force found no criminal activity had taken place.

Police had already concluded that three of the allegations were unfounded.

Lisa Forbes won by 683 votes in the 6 June election, with Nigel Farage's Brexit Party in second place.

Onasanya was elected as a Labour MP in 2017 with a majority of 607, but was suspended from the party after she was sentenced for lying about speeding earlier this year.

A petition to force a by-election was signed by the required 10% of Peterborough constituents.

This was the crux of their issue with the result.

Same people who like DT's comments telling brown people to go back home - who will nonetheless try to deny that he said it or that it was a racist thing to say . . .
