Personal Statement

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by trueshellz, Jan 29, 2011.

  1. Hi guys, hope all is well!
i have a question regarding personal statements... I did for at the end of my PGCE for my first job which is a maternity cover and comes to an end in July.

I'm a bit confused about what to include for the updated version, if you will, to apply for jobs in September. I still have 1/2 term of my induction left... what do I need to include in there?
I know it sounds odd but any help would be great.
    Thanks

Your personal statement shouldn't be just one document that you write and then send out to several schools. It should be something that changes for each school, and stands out because it is relevant to that school and its needs, showing that you are the best person for them.
I think that what you need to do is read the shortlisting clickables in the Welcome thread.
Your letter of application or statement (see the FAQs in the Welcome thread to see the difference) needs to be tailored for each school. Basically the letter needs to be less about you and what you've done and more about them and what you will do. You should find the Welcome thread useful - others have!
Dear Theo: Executive summary works- I have an interview
