Peri starters

Discussion in 'Music' started by Sallym86, Feb 14, 2012.

  1. Does anyone have any ideas for fun starters for a peri lesson? This will be a primary aged beginner.

Think about the sort of aural tests that they will have to do later when they are ready for exams and see if you can think of some fun ideas with those in mind - too often the aural part of the exam gets forgotten.
Some ideas 'off the top of my head' might be:
Play some recorded music of different styles and ask them to move in time to the music. Choose a wide range - include some 'pop' as well as ' the classics'.
Play some clapping games - clap their name and then yours then add perhaps family names or school subjects, football teams - whatever their interest. You clap one of these back - whose name was it?
Sing some call and response songs.
