Performance poetry

Discussion in 'Primary' started by Lyndy_lou, Jun 20, 2012.

  1. I have been looking for a poem I used years ago but cannot find it. It began: 'What's that down there, what's that moving, what's that moving down in the dark of that chilly black maze of a cave...'
I have looked on the internet with no look.
Does anyone know where I can find it?

    What's
    That Down There

    What's
    that down there?

    What's that moving?

What's that moving down in the dark

Of this chilly black maze of a cave?

    Is it Aleachim?

The half dragon and half phoenix

    With black strong silky wings

And fur as white as a ghost?

    What's
    that down there?

    What's that moving?

What's that moving down in the dark

Of this chilly black maze of a cave?

    Is it Edja?

The half lion and half unicorn

With a roar as loud as thunder

And skin as bright as a light?

    What's
    that down there?

    What's that moving?

What's that moving down in the dark

Of this chilly black maze of a cave?

    Is it Elchar

The half gorilla and half bat

With wings as big as a tunnel

And fur as black as the night?

    What's
    that down there?

    What's that moving?

What's that moving down in the dark

Of this chilly black maze of a cave?

  3. That's one written in the style of the original - very clever but doesn't flow as the original does.
One of the verses in the original is
    'Is that Sarillo,
The backcracking brute with a hundred horns...'
    but thank you anyway.

  4. Just realised that I couldn't spell in my first post. Luck not look. Blame stress and tiredness.
