People who are currently teaching abroad, do you like your jobs?

Discussion in 'Education news' started by mendovoltar82, Sep 21, 2019.

  1. I've been reading through lots of the posts here and on other forums, and there seems to be a good amount of negativity towards TEFL. I'm just curious if you people like your job, and would you choose to go down the teaching abroad path if you were able to do everything over again?

You *might* get more answers if you post in the teaching abroad forum, although probably not as most people there are *real* teachers in proper international schools, teaching their specialisms to an international cohort. If you do want views on teaching tefl abroad, try daves esl cafe (a different website forum), where you will find loads of tefl teachers.

To answer your question, though, I've been aboard 11 years teaching humanities, and I bloody love my job! I'd do it again in a heartbeat, and have no wish to return to teaching in the UK.

Yes it’s a lot much easier than teaching in UK. Kids are amazing! The only downside is trying to understand the adults
