People I like a lot

    The weatherman Daniel Corbett.
    Eamonn Holmes, for being grumpy.
Hugh Dennis and David Mitchell, for being funny.
Clarkson and May, but not Hammond.

  2. This thread was only matter of time..

    I like:
    Unassuming yet funny people
That curly-haired chap who used to present Never Mind the Buzzcocks - Mark something..?
My friend Brian - the funniest person I know.
  3. I presume we are sticking to their public persona here. I like Morgan Freeman; I always admire the characters I've seen him play; but for all I know he bullies his wife and tortures kittens for a hobby.
    Clint Eastwood
Alistair Cooke, though am thinking that might be lust rather than liking
    Peter Capaldi
    Jeremy Clarkson
Most of the Grumpy Old Men
It's a bit short of women, innit.

Greg Wallace from Masterchef. I like seeing someone unashamedly enjoy their puds.
Morgan Freeman - I love his voice and could listen to it for hours.
    Mr BS.

    Aaaaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you like Pasty?

    Now Raymond Blanc is amazing.
  8. Indeed! Odd that its much easier to come up with a list of people we don't like.
I'm struggling to think of any politician I would like to spend any time at all with. I feel sorry for Lemsip Opik but that isn't the same as liking him.

I like Adam Garcia a lot.
  10. Disliking is a much more acute emotion than liking.

Though not necessarily in the long run. You can dismiss someone you dislike from your life [apart from family duties] with the drop of a hat, but friendships needmaintenance.
  12. It's mostly men on the Dislike list too. And that's a much bigger thread.

That's a better pic...I am sure I am not alone lol and if I am....all the better ;-)
  14. I still won't be sending him my underwear.

Are we talking actual acquaintances or celelbrities?
I loe the phrase 'I don't like the cut of his jib' because it allows for instinct and first impressions.

    blasted sticky v!
  17. I don't expect everyone I like to be my friend. Friendship implies duty. I hope that people Iike will be friendly to me but I don't expect anything more from them unless they choose to give it.
Conversely I find it irksome that people I don't like at work for example continue to be friendly towards me when I thought I'd made it clear that I can't stand them.Perhaps they just do it to annoy me.
