I know they exist, but can't remember the name of these magic gadgets: can anyone please advise?
I used to work with students at secondary, I'm now in FE and have an A level student who might really benefit from the right aid.

"The C-Pen Reader pen scanner is major technological breakthrough for anyone learning English and is a life-saver for those who suffer from reading difficulties such as dyslexia. The C-Pen Reader is a totally portable, pocket-sized device that reads text out aloud with an English human-like digital voice." https://www.thedyslexiashop.co.uk/the-c-pen-readerpen.html

There's a review of another product, the "Quicktionary" Reading Pen (above), at http://www.educational-psychologist.co.uk/sen-resources-blog/2016/1/22/reading-pen-review.
