PECs question

Discussion in 'Special educational needs' started by georginabull2006, Jan 8, 2012.

  1. Hi

We use PECs in my school and i have recently been on the 2 day training. There is a question that has been bugging me and I was hoping that someone here could help.

What is the reason for wait cards being on a red background? We use Red, Amber, Green for 5P behaviour strategy and it seems at odds to give a wait card (which is asking the student to do something 'good') but for it to be on a red background which may make the student think they have done something wrong.

I am planning to produce wait cards which are on green backgrounds but wanted to check if anyone could think of a reason that this may cause a problem further on down the line.

    Thanks
    Georgina
