I just made some peanut butter cookies using a BBC food recipe and although they taste good, they are quite crumbly. The recipe is:
    8tbsp plain flour
    2tbsp caster sugar
    2tbsp crunch peanut butter
    1 egg yolk
    50g butter
I threw in some chocolate chips for good measure :)
Any ideas on how I can tweak this to make the cookies more chewy rather than crumbly?
    Thanks!

  3. Usually more fat and egg plus change some/all of the white sugar for brown
That recipe does sound like a biscuit, that's a hard cookie in American, recipe though, it looks quite 'short'.
Type chewy peanut buuter cookies into Google, you'll get loads of hits.

  5. S'OK.
Let me know how it turns out. I have a new, slightly odd recipe I am going to give some oven time at the weekend!

    Hmmmm, well...

I jigged this same recipe using more butter, a whole egg instead of just a yolk and brown sugar instead of caster.
They turned out even more crumbly! So much for my cooking instincts, haha!
    Time for google methinks...

S*d it. Made chocolate brownie cake instead. Much better :D

  8. There's a great looking recipe for peanut butter brownies in this month's Good Food magazine. I've got a recipe for chocolate peanut butter cookies somewhere, I'll dig it out for you (not at home at the mo).
