PE- broken arm

    You dont say what age he/she is, or what activities you are due to cover.
    In general terms, I don't think you can involve them other than maybe officiating any mini games you might play, helping to co-teach/help others etc
    There may also be H&S implications if eg they further damage the arm or injure somebody with the cast.

    OK:
    1.Start by checking the H&S thing with SMT just to cover yourself
    2.Athletics - timing/measuring/recording/coaching
    You might even want to let him/her get into PE kit if they really want to feel part of the whole thing. Make a thing about him/her being your TA - he/she will love it.
     
  3. I had an enthusiastic Year 8 boy who tripped after he had got off a high jump landing mat. Broke his elbow and dislocated his shoulder. Two weeks later he had a full arm cast and was doing rather well in the short tennis ladder.
    H&S in these parts is not top of the list, if indeed, it is actually on it!
