Pay rise - do I get back-paid?

I've just finished my NQT year and have only just had my performance management meeting to determine my pay rise. If I am rewarded a pay rise does that mean that it will begin from next month and that's that or do I get extra for the last two months (September/October) as "back-pay"?
Sorry if this is an obvious question but it has been bugging me for ages and I could do with the extra cash!!!

    A poor No-Longer-NQT!!!

If you get a rise, It should be back-dated.

    Get everything in writing.

Yes a rise that was due for 1st September will be paid with either the next months salary after your meeting, or the following one

It will depend on the cut off date for payroll.

    Best wishes
