Pay Reference Number and Employee Number - are they one and the same?

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by Furry Melon, Aug 13, 2009.

  1. Hello
I'm filling in my application form for a golden 'hello'. The form asks me for my 'Pay Reference Number'.
Am I correct in assuming it is the same as the 'Employee Number' printed on my payslips?
    Thanks in advance!

  3. Hi,
your Pay Reference Number is on your pay slip but its not your Employee Number.
On your pay slip towards the bottom of the slip it'll say "Employer's Tax Office (PAYE) Reference". Thats the number you need, its so the couty council can look up what pay sclae your on and other things I think.
    hope this helps
