Pay progression

    I'm an RQT and finished my NQT year at Easter. I've been told I'll be moving up the payscale to M2 and that I'll be back paid to this September. I queried being back paid to Easter when I finished being an NQT but the answer from the school seems to be no at this stage. Does anyone have any experience of this happening to them and managing to get the back pay?

    No, completion of an NQT year isn't generally linked to a pay increase, this is a result of the school's pay cycle.

    Definitely a no from me. To September, yes - but not mid year

    Under STPCD, pay reviews usually take effect from Septmber. Unless you school's pay policy says differently, you don't have a case, I am afraid.
