Pay Progression - MPS to UPS

  1. If you started a job in Sep, you would be on M6 for 1 year and then UP1 the Sep after that (you have to do the statutory amount of weeks in an academic year for it to count as a whole year - can't remember exactly how many this is, 24??). You don't need a folder of evidence anymore, you just sign an application for threshold and then the school processes it. Quite straightforward.

    Straightforward except you will need evidence from two Performance Managements, which show that you have achieved the relevant standards. This means that you are dependent on the last Performance Management at you previous school demonstrating the standards. You also will have needed to work for (I think) 24 weeks at M5 to qualify for M6 in September.

    It isn't as simple as that. You can achieve your targets withour achieving the standards for UPS1. It has been up to you and your reviewer to ensure that your reviews demonstrated that you met the standards. You may well have done that, in which case you should have no problems.
