Does anyone know if the MPS will see increases for the 2016-17 academic year?
If there is an increase, it won't necessarily mean that an individual teacher will get any extra, as it will depend on the school's Pay Policy . . .
No more Pay Portability, no more pay scale, no more automatic moving up the scale.
Too soon for DfE to have decided what 2016/17 pay will look like. It'll be some months yet. I wouldn't hold your breath!
Review body (who were independent) used to report in January when pay rises were in April. Now in September so probably will not here until April and probably 1%. It'll be interesting if they mention what needs to be done to improve recruitment (and retention).
Perhaps MPs will battle hard to ensure that teachers get a similar rise to what they got last year. Or perhaps not!
I think perhaps....not
perhaps not!! Their pay review is independent, ours was now government just tell it what to pay. What with pension increases, NI increases and tight school budgets that represent another cut in real terms.
