Pay grades

Discussion in 'Teaching assistants' started by ptk3, Feb 3, 2019.

  1. Evening all, could someone please tell me what are the pay grades for a TA?
How much are you paid on pay grade D for example?
I can't find the answer anywhere!!
    Thanks! x

In my LA grade D (pts 11 - 17) is £17,007 to £18,672 but that is full time and TAs are never full time but pro rata. So the only way to find the actual pay is to ask the school or HR.

Will vary from LA to LA and from MAT to MAT.

Can even vary from school to school. In our area, TAs are paid on the APTC scale (available on line). Most schools pay level 2 qualified TAs on a Scale 2, level 3s on a Scale 3, Cover Supervisors on Scale 4 and HLTAs on Scale 5. Remember though, the salaries quoted are for 37 hours a week, 52 weeks a year - by the time you've pro-rated them to around 27 hours a week, term time only, it doesn't look much like the original figure!
