Pay cut

    I have just been told that due to an awful deficit in budget and drop in pupil numbers the governors have decided to regrade my deputy head scale from 11 to 3. This would mean a drop of 10k. I have been a DH for past 7/8 yrs. HR have said that if I don't accept then after 3 yrs it will be dismissal and then I can accept it or leave ( I'm sure they phrased it better than that)
    The "good news" is that my pay is protected for 3 years. Also I'm in a fortunate position in that many of my colleagues will be facing redundancy this term .
    We are a small school ( less than 150 pupils) I'm 53 yrs old...
    Any advice please? Or similar experience?
