Paternity Leave

Discussion in 'Pregnancy' started by gingerkitten, Feb 2, 2012.

  1. Sorry if this is a silly question!

Hubby and I are both teachers. First baby due 12th July.
    School years ends 23rd July.

On off chance baby comes after school ends, can hubby take paternity leave in Sept? I read something about 56 days but I'm confused! (I blame baby brain!)

    Thanks.

You're right, it's in the nut guidance online if you need to read it...

Statutory paternity leave may be taken before 56 days
from the date of the child's birth and cannot start before the birth of the
child. It may begin on the date the child is born, or on a date falling a
specific number of days after date child is born, or on a specific
predetermined date after the expected week of the birth.

  3. Thanks. Much clearer.
