Part-timers and INSET- what do YOU do?

Part-time teachers- do you get paid if you attend INSET on days you do not usually work?

    Do you et paid for working on INSET days which are not your normal days?

    Yes, but only if your attendance is agreed in advance with the headteacher. If you are not needed, they won’t pay you just because you’d like to be there.

    Welcome to the world of - 'hold your ground' and see Union if asked to come in for 'free'. A part time contract should mean a part time contract, no more and no less :)

    You do not have to attend INSET on a day that is not one of your working days, but if you do attend by agreement with the school, you are entitled to be paid.
