Part time work in Germany

Discussion in 'Teaching abroad' started by natcat86, Feb 5, 2012.

  1. Hi all, have searched the forum for any info on working part time in Germany but couldn't really see anything. So, can anyone help? Is it possible, will German international schools employ people on a part time basis? Would I be better to go through an agency, apply to schools directly or look for a job in a forces school? I am particularly interested in moving to Berlin. I would be moving with my husband and 4 year old.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

  2. The forces schools (sce) only do full time I think.

Based on my experiences in Paris I would run with applying speculatively to schools you are interested in (unless they say specifically on their website that they DON'T take speculative applications).
Alternatively, you could look at going into private tuition: here in Paris the demand is huge and obviously you could tailor your schedule to suit you.
