Part-Time Primary PGCE Canterbury Christ Church Interview - help!

Discussion in 'Thinking of teaching' started by Lizkimo, Mar 26, 2011.

  1. Hello all!

I received a letter today inviting me to an interview for the Part-Time PGCE at CCCU so I was just wondering if anyone had any advice for it? Preferably someone who might have done this on a previous intake!

All that's said in the letter is that there'll be a talk by the course tutor then group interviews, however I'm sure that's not all. I think I read somewhere that there'll be a maths test, in which case, what sort of level are we talking here? I'm really not very confident with my rusty maths abilities so I'd appreciate if anyone could let me know what I'm in for!

I had an interview for a Primary GTP yesterday that went really well so was starting to feel confident about the idea of interviewing, however I'm not looking forward to a group one at all. Is it hard to actually get a word in and put your own view across? There'll still be a personal/single interview, right??

Guess I'm a lot more worried about about the process than I thought, haha. Oh well.

  2. Hi,
Hope both your interviews went well. I have an interview for the Modular PGCE on the 9th of Nov. Any hints ,tips? Did you both have to do a mini lesson? How did that go?
How was the Maths? Any help gratefully recieved.
    Many Thanks
  3. Hiya!

My interview is on the 9th too I got the date wrong lol. The mini lesson is v confusing, are we meant to pretend who we are presenting to are children?! Am not looking forward to having both a group.and individual interview! The english and maths are meant to be quite simple so hopefully that will be ok!
  4. Any advice on the mini-lesson for the Modular Primary PGCE route at CCCU as I have an impending interview

    Thanks in advance
