Part time and staff meetings/INSET

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by sideshow, Apr 26, 2011.

  1. How useful/important are the meetings? I have a lot of part time staff and they survive without going to meetings. See if there is a way you can find out about meetings that might be talking about vital things - like the one at the start of term.
  2. The rules are that you cannot be instructed to attend meetings on days you do not work. If you are asked to attend and you do so, then you should be paid or given TOIL.
What you choose to do so as not to "rock the boat" may be another matter. The only thing I would ask is, have you approached your employer and requested renumeration for attending.
