The Paris memorial to the victims of the Friday 13th November attacks has been destroyed by extreme left wingers at the climate change conference in Paris who raided the memorial for objects to attack police with. Police published photos of some of the objects hurled against them, including rocks, hammers and glass. Candles and flowers were also stolen from the memorial during the frenzied raid, the former of which was also used as weapons against police.

Many people are shocked at the willingness of the activists to desecrate a memorial in order to pick a fight with police. The French government had banned all public protests since the attack of two weeks ago. Bertrand Boulet, a member of 17 plus jamais, the organization which maintains the memorial said, "It's indecent, a desecration. The statue is the tomb of the victims of the attacks.” 317 people were arrested after the riot on Sunday.

Perhaps not all the protesters were "thugs" given that many protests are infiltrated by those intent on causing trouble.

"Leftist"? Is that a pre-requisite of believing in climate change, then?

And furthermore Middlemarch can you ever imagine a right winger accepting the notion of climate change?

Have you noticed how it's become a very popular term all of a sudden, with the latest generation of posters.

They take politics pretty seriously in France - ’'direct action" is quite common both the right & left.

I think the Paris police are no better. Some of them seem to have equated climate change protest wit terrorism.

No they haven't. They are simply doing their job. Stopping a riot.

Surprise, surprise! The Left behaves in the way the Right is always portrayed as behaving. Wake up and small the coffee! Bitter, isn't it?

Michel Sapin, French finance minister, has said ISIS spent only 30,000 euros in planning and operating the Paris attacks. A lot of their money comes from oil sales and the looting of antiquities such as those at Palmyra which have ended up on international art markets.

"The illegal traffic in looted antiquities is buying the bombs and the bullets that are killing so many," U.S. Marine Col. Matthew Bogdanos, who led the investigation into the 2003 looting of the National Museum of Iraq, told CBS News. Now he prosecutes antiquities cases as an assistant district attorney in the U.S.

"In a surprisingly small number of steps, you can go from the looter in ISIS-controlled territory to the smuggler who gets it out of the country... to a gallery owner who provides forged documentation... and ultimately getting a buyer making its way to the four destination points of New York, London, Paris and Tokyo," Bogdanos said.

He said he and his colleagues have seen evidence of artifacts "looted by ISIS or under the authority of ISIS" ending up on the markets in London and even New York.

CBS News has learned there are multiple ongoing investigations into ISIS-looted artifacts that have reached the U.S., but the cases are very difficult to prove because it's so easy to forge documentation about the provenance and the authenticity of these objects."

I would askwhat the hell posts #17 and #18 have to do with the original subject of the thread but given the author I can't see any point

But go ahead by asking them anyway, eh? Obviously not paying much attention.
