Hi was wondering if I could pick your brains. We have our art day on Friday and I am doing painting. The theme is animals. It will be for years 1-4.
I was thinking of experimenting with colour shading and then producing a jungle scene- getting children to paint different animals and backgrounds. Anyone else got any good ideas?

Could you think about camouflage for some of your scene? Some of the younger children may find painting animals tricky - but they could paint leaves, bark, stones etc. Other children could then paint animals to 'hide' in amongst the background. This would fit in with your colour shading idea too.

Along similar lines, habitats as a theme. Maybe the little ones re-creating 'The hungry caterpiller'.
