I was able to register with General teaching Council for Scotland and am hoping I can teach there from next summer onwards. But being non-native and non-EU, I worry that securing a job will be difficult, given the need to secure a work visa etc. For others who have been in this situation, were you able to find a job? For finding opportunities in general, is it better to wait for jobs to be posted publicly or to directly contact the schools and councils (In scotland it seems that recruiting teachers is the councils responsibility, is that correct?). What time of year do jobs usually get posted?

My sincere thanks for any response
