  1. And take your friends harissa paste, tikka paste fajita mix with you. Why am I dabbling in this nonsense? Shepherd's pie and hearty classics from now on.

    because they are nice?

  4. They are nice if you know what to do with them. All my food seems to be some sort of sloppy/spicy stuff. Years ago I did a course in Indian cookery and the results from a properly followed recipe and the correct ingredients were so much better than the bung it in thing.

I'm a bit lazy with spices - garam masala does for most things...
I also get tempted to put a dollop of wholegrain mustard in everything.
And a dozen scrunches of black pepper.

Some recipes I cook have just two or three distinctive ones, and they are the tastiest - moderation.

I do like fresh herbs from the garden - lovely peppermint is current favourite, sprinkled onto yoghurt or a fresh apple chutney
    mmmmmmmmm!

I bought some apple and mint juice from the supermarket last week.
    It was astonishingly good.

And have you ever tried dukkah sprinkled into a sandwich or onto a green salad?
    Heavenly!

Where did that pickle come from?
Did you slip some in, or did Belle reconsider during editing? Branston is a bit common, you know [IMG]

And what's with the religious cheese?

I slipped the pickle into Belle's sarnie.
I'm sure she won't mind. [IMG]

She will! You can't help but notice when someone slips pickle in your toasted cheese sandwich.
Oh blimmin' flip - I want one now. And I only had my dinner 3 hours ago.
    Gah.

I'm a purist. No Branston in my cheese and tabasco toasted sarnie!

*takes back the Branston pickle and shuffles off sorrowfully*
