OTT teaching Music

Discussion in 'Music' started by princesslemons, May 16, 2011.

  1. Hi there,
I am an Overseas Trained Teacher from the USA with a degree in Music Education. I have been teaching in the UK since September 2009, and I am wanting desperately to get my QTS. I just can't figure out how!
I am a specialist music teacher in a Primary School. I teach all classes from Year 1-6 for 1 hour, Reception for 45 minutes, and Nursery for 30 minutes. I do this 4 days a week, and I have started teaching non-music classes on Fridays (I cover a year 3 class for the entire day) in order to get the skills/experience that I might need. However, I'm finding it very difficult to figure out what I actually have to do. Mine is quite a different situation from the norm! I really only want to teach music. I wonder if anyone has any insight on this? No one has given me any useful/relevant information yet!
    Thanks in advance!
