  1. Hi there I will be starting work in a class working with pupils who need additional help. They are KS2 although many are at KS1 level.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as I will be making some medium term plans on the Olympics for the summer term.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

We did Ancient Greece for History coverage, for Geog we studied Jamaica & tied in to the Jamaican Bobsleigh team (Cool Runnings), why the climate made it difficult etc etc. Literacy News reports, maths measures. I cant remember how we got Art/D&T in there, I think we planned to design our own stadiums but we didnt actually do it for some reason. Music, you could create an opening/closing ceremony song, like an anthem and put it to music. We actually held our own olympics in a local park, it was really good fun.

  3. There are lots of Olympic and Paralympic lessons on the Go-Givers website. It is free to register.
A lesson I really like is the one below but there are lots more on there too. The learning activity tabs give lesson plan ideas which could form your medium term plans. There are lessons for KS1 and KS2.

  5. Have you had a look at the Gold Challenge? There are about 100 primary schools taking part so far. By signing up they've got the opportunity to go to the Olympic Stadium this weekend!
