Olympic "legacy" ???

Discussion in 'Physical education' started by Cath Musetti, Aug 13, 2012.

  1. Im confused. I spent 6 years as an SSCo developing competitive sport in primary schools, organising festivals, high level coaching and loads of leadership programmes with the result that primary school sport in my area was thriving (admitedly, not secondary). The new Alliance government kicked all that out and (I personally agreed that there was a lot of waste )and now Cameron is taking the credit for deciding that primary schools dont play enough competitive sport and hes going to get it all going again! No wonder Labour are peed off with him. But should I be pleased or not? Is it just same old same old???Do people think there will be specialist primary school PE teachers in place? What do competition organisers actually do?Is this just the govt jumping on the bandwagon of a succesful Olympics? Does anyone out there have a vision???.......

  3. Well lets hope that Gove finds a scheme that allows my son to do as much sport as before, because since the cutting of funding he has done next to nothing at school - it's just as well his Dad is a keen sportsman!!
