Old sets of class readers - help!

Discussion in 'Workplace dilemmas' started by anthonyjohn73, Dec 13, 2011.

  1. We have just cleared out our English cupboard at school and have about ten boxes of old class readers we no longer need.. Most are in pretty good condition.

Is there an organisation that will take these books? We don't want to dump them for recycling as there must be people out there who could make good use of them.

    Has anyone got any suggestions?

Another local school might. We would possibly.

    Are you near Oxfordshire?

If you don't fancy selling on amazon bit by bit or offering for free to another school, there are companies who will pay 5p per kg for books to recycle. Google :)

I work in a school in Florida and we donate all of our used textbooks to Unicef to send to Haiti. Maybe Unicef in the UK has a similar program?

  6. Hi folks - I called our local charity shop and they have kindly agreed to collect them and hand them on to a deserving cause.
Many thanks for all the suggestions. Much appreciated. [IMG]
