And straight away the USA is blaming Iran for the attack. But there are some puzzling features of the attack, if it indeed is Iranian.
    1. One of the ships, the Kokuka Courageous, is Japanese-owned. The attack took place just as the Japanese PM is in Iran, sitting down for talks, of which Trump disapproves. Why on earth would Iran attack that, and at such a time?
    2. The other ship, the Front Altair, is owned by Norway, and 50% of the crew are Russian (the rest Filipinos). Why would Iran attack a ship owned by a neutral country, and crewed by sailors from a power which has been sympathetic to Iran?

    Two possible conclusions:
    1. Iran is stupid, which is why it attacked those ships, now.
    2. Someone else attacked those ships in order for Iran to get the blame.

The latter is overwhelmingly more likely.

Thanks. That's the problem when threads drop below the horizon.
