Ofsted

  1. Anyone been recently Ofsteded? Anyone feeling like they have been through the mill? We waited five years for ours. Not looking forward to the report being published. Evidently staisfactory is no longer satisfactory, just like average is no longer average.

  3. We had OFSTED early March. Previous inspection had been April 2009 - practically three years to the day.
    Both inspections were with different frameworks.
    3 inspectors for the 2 days as we have over 400 children.
    Inspectors acknowledged that it was harder to get good right across the board in this new framework and that good in the old frameowrk would be satisfactory under the new 2012 framework.
    We did feel, however, that a bigger picture was taken in and not simply a 2 day snapshot.
    In this new framework the overall judgement regarding teaching and learning takes into account all the books, progress shown in books as well as lesson observations. So, a tough lesson can be boosted by excellent progress shown in children's books etc...
