Ofsted notice?

Discussion in 'Primary' started by devonspring, Feb 15, 2011.

  1. If normal primaryOfsteds are one and a half days and "minimum"? notice is one and a half days does this mean that if you get to the end of Tuesday you are not going to get an inspection that week?
Anyone got proof to the contrary?!
  2. As far as I know, it depends on what grading your school is currently at. Sitting on a satisfactory or less, they do not have to give any notice before an inspection. Schools on a good or outstanding have the courtesy of two days notice. Fair system?
  3. We were given outstanding last time but had a phonecall at two this afternoon saying that OFSTED are coming in the morning. Apparently we're part of a pilot scheme.[IMG]
  4. Pilot for what? Are they already looking at revising the new framework?
    Good luck.

Is the pilot for the new '24 hour notice' inspections starting in September now that GoveyBaby changed his mind about 'no notice' since the HT could be out when the inspectors called and then who would witter on about the graphs and Venn diagrams?
  6. We got a call around 3.30-4pm on Tuesday for a Thursday/Friday inspection (when the Head & I were both out on a course). Apparently we were the "reserve" school, hence the late notice...
It still went down as 2 days' notice in the final report.
Being "Called To The Phone" is a great way to get sympathy from a room full of Heads & Deputies, but there were lots of grey anxious faces as they all checked their watches!
