I have an observation next week with a class of 30 year 10s who are challenging in terms of behaviour (just my luck). I'm fairly recent to the school- been here 4 weeks so I haven't earnt their respect or trust yet (had many different teachers previous to me) and they are a right handful to say the least! I am meant to be teaching them something related to the ALAN test they are going to take. I plan to do a pacey lesson with lots of actitivites to try and engage them but I'm not familiar with the ALAN tests- is it mainly reading or writing? Has anyone got any ideas? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
