Nursery visits

Discussion in 'Early Years' started by LUteach, Jun 24, 2011.

  1. Hello all,
I am an NQT going into Reception and my school has asked me to go solo on some nursery visits to meet new pupils.
I was wondering if there was any key things I should be asking the practitioners at the nursery?
    Thanks in advance [IMG]

  2. hi you should be asking someone to be going with you - from a safety point of view you should not be doing home visits on your own - i will list questions later on resources for you. i have 90 home nursery visits to do in total and still 60 to do before the end of term - i always take the children's keyperson with me so they can play with the ch while i chat to parent and complete'getting to know you' sheet / toilet letter / visit date and building up to full time schedule.
    Will post again later

  3. When the reception teachers came to visit my nursery they asked:

    - Particular friendships?
    - Particular non-friendships?
    - General ability?
    - Special needs or concerns?
    - Social skills, confidence etc?
    - Anything else?
