NQT year

Discussion in 'NQTs and new teachers' started by Pupil2, Jun 9, 2011.

  1. A friend of mine will have the 2nd term of his NQT finished in July. A job has just come up in a 6th form college near where He lives. He is wondering will he be able to finish his NQT term in a college and also would he be elegible for a Golden Hallo. Anyone know the answer?

NQT terms can be served in a sixth form college (that's how I got mine!). I assume that he is a secodnary teacher and has already done his two terms in 11-16. Arrangements have to be made with the local authority, but if he has passed his first two terms then it should just be a formality. In tems of golden hello again, he should still be eligible.
